Tours, Speakers and Presentations

ELA has a long-standing practice of organizing tours of interest to members. Topical issues that speakers address are also arranged from time to time, either at ELA's annual general meeting or at a special time via electronic transmission.

Historical Activities

Engaged in the developing of a biographical database of people, a significant part of whose lives were spent in libraries, archives, publishing and related information fields.

One major goal of ELA is to support historical research related to the history of libraries, archives, publishing houses and their workers; ELA published a special issue of ELAN devoted to the history of library education in Canada and compiled chronologies to supplement that history.
