Ex Libris Association Indigenous Library Bursary Award 2026

The Ex Libris Association Board is pleased to announce the 4th recipient of the Ex Libris Association Indigenous Student Bursary.

Cheyanne Berry is from the Tlowitsis Tribe in British Columbia. She is attending the Library Technician program at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario.

She has conveyed her thanks as follows:

I am honoured to be a recipient of the Ex Libris Indigenous Student Bursary. As a full-time

student, balancing my course load and placement can be enough of a struggle, without

adding financial stress. Receiving this bursary allows me to focus on, and enjoy, my

studies as I work towards a lifelong dream of a career in the library field. I truly cannot

thank the ELA and their partners enough for their generous support.

We are thankful for the continued support of this bursary by Library Bound (with an annual donation) and our generous ELA members.

The bursary has now financially assisted two Library Technician program students and two Master's candidates. We are proud to be supporting new Indigenous voices in the library professions. You can find more information on the Bursary here.
